Burner capacity: 60 kW Size of wood chip store: 9 m3 Heats approx. 360 m2
We previously had a heat pump but the electricity consumption became too high. Also, we have our own forest so it seemed natural to choose wood chip heating. The conversion brought financial benefits. In less than two years we saved what we had spent in investment costs for the system. In the winter, I fill the store every two weeks. In the summer, it’s about once a month. At the moment we’re burning oak which means we need to empty the ash from the boiler roughly once a week but with other types of wood, such as pine, there’s a smaller amount of ash. In general, the system takes care of itself because it ignites and extinguishes when necessary and is very reliable.

Burner kapacity: 40 kW Size of wood chip store: 4,5 m3 Heats approx. 150 m2
We previously used logs for heating and before that, oil. Since we’re getting on in years, we wanted something more convenient and that’s why we chose wood chips. Now I fill the container two or three times a month and empty the ash from the boiler as often. The system has worked perfectly and the amount of work involved is minimal. It provides an even and comfortable heat.
Viklau church, Gotland, Sweden
Burner capacity: 40 kW Size of wood chip store: 12 m3
When the oil boiler in Viklau Church was due to be replaced, wood chip heating was chosen. Mats Ahlby has been in charge of the project and says the system is very easy to maintain and emits a minimum of environmentally harmful substances. It feels good to be able to get away from oil dependency and use biofuel that is locally produced instead. The boiler room and wood chip store are linked together. The store is opened hydraulically and is filled roughly every second month.
